We will work together to create a schedule that works for everybody. If you are working and living with a partner, you may work some days together and other days individually. The most important thing is finding a routine and attempting to stick to it. We are ALWAYS flexible when things come up as long as you have a plan to make-up the hours missed.
During the growing season, we need support at least 4 days / week. The winter is much more flexible. Here’s an example schedule for, let’s call them, Steve and Abbey
Monday 8-12, Steve and abbey (8)
Tuesday 8-4. Steve (8)
Wednesday 8-12. Steve and Abbey (8)
Thursday 8-4, Abbey (8)

It’s easy! Just sit on the toilet seat, pee or poop, then scoop some pine shavings on top. When the lined bucket under the toilet seat gets full, take out the compostable liner bag and bring it to the dedicated humanure compost. Top it with shavings, and you’re good to go. In 2 years, you’ll feed some willow trees!

That is definitely our preference. It’s a super fun working environment and it’s a great way to make some extra cash. Plus, the more weddings you do the better we will be as a team
We host weddings most Saturdays June - October and we hire two staff members to assist from 3-9pm. The pay is $150 each. Perfect for partners!

We will consider that, yes. That arrangement is a bit more difficult, as the partial rent would need to be enough to hire someone from off site to cover the missing work hours.

One of the great things about working here is that no two days are the same. The projects on the list are so diverse that it’s really hard to describe a typical day.
What i can say is that we try to avoid back to back super physical days. I also try to keep folks out of the heat of the day as much as possible, and do my best to design work days that keep you motivated.

We give one week of free vacation time during the summer, and one week during the holiday season.
You can definitely request time off the homestead as long as you have a mutually agreeable plan for how and when those hours will be made up.
and, some photos…
